If you haven’t already heard of it, Fortnite is the fastest growing game in the history of games (125 million players in less than a year), and many teens and even adults are playing.

If you’re a parent and your son or daughter plays the game, you may want to know a little about it–and maybe even know what they are talking about when they say “Did you grab the minis?” or “Let’s go tilted”.

For those of you who are interested in learning more about Fortnite, here are some screenshots of the major cities on the Fortnite island to give you an idea of how Fortnite designs cities. (Click on the picture for a larger view.)

1. Lucky Landing

• 

This beautiful Japanese themed town has nice homes and many trees. It is very colorful. However, compared to other cities and towns, very small.

2. Frosty Flights

• 

In this snowy wasteland lies “Frosty Flights”, a hangar for airplanes, and also serves as a research center.

3. Retail Row

• 

This is a larger Fortnite location, and consists of a couple houses, but mainly grocery store and shops, hence the name “Retail” Row.

4. Loot Lake

• 

At this huge scenic location with rivers, lakes, islands, and waterfalls, you are sure to be impressed.

5. Polar Peak

• 

This snowy, mountain-top castle is sure to take your breath away with these beautiful castle-themed houses.

6. Lazy Lagoon

• 

• 

To top of these beautiful and extremely detailed pirate style houses, there is also an enormous pirate ship.

7. Sunny Steps

• 

These gigantic, Mayan themed temples are my personal favorite because of how beautiful and colorful they are.

8. Happy Hamlet

• 

At this snowy location packed with beautiful houses, it looks like urban planning has been put to work.

9. Tilted Towers

• 

• 

This location is the most popular one in Fortnite, and it has many well-designed apartments, buildings, and a central square.

10. Paradise Palms

• 

In the middle of the desert biome is this small city with many modern designed houses, some industrial buildings, and a huge open-air hotel.

11. The Block

• 

“The Block” is an area where Fortnite puts the best builds of the month on a block, hence the name, so everyone can be blown away.

12. Fatal Fields

• 

This location is farmland with a house, some barns, silos, windmills, anything you would find at a farm in real life.

13. Salty Springs

• 

Salty Springs is even smaller than your average town with only a shop and 5 houses, however a lot of greenery to make up for it.
